Orchestra

What is orchestra?

Cullman Homeschool Orchestra is an ensemble offered to any homeschool students between the ages of 8-18 years old. Orchestra teaches students how to play band/orchestral instruments and focuses on classical and contemporary band and orchestra music.

We offer two different levels, Junior and Senior Orchestra. Junior Orchestra is available for beginners to learn the basics of their chosen instrument and music reading, and students may test out of it into the Senior Orchestra when they are ready. Ideally, beginner students would remain in the Junior Orchestra for no more than one year.

When does Orchestra meet?

Orchestra meets 2 times per week on Tuesday and Friday mornings; you may choose to attend one or both rehearsals for the same price. Junior
Orchestra rehearses from 9:00-10:00 a.m. and Senior Orchestra rehearses from 10:00-11:00 a.m.

Orchestra is a year-round ensemble, although you may take the summer off. We just ask that you let us know at least a month in advance if you plan to take a summer break!

How do you register?

Registration for new students happens from June to August every year. To register your student, make plans to attend our Orchestra Camp event in July where students will be allowed to try out the instruments, mingle with current students, and parents can handle the paperwork!
